Richard Michael Mayall - 1958 - 2014.
Today is a very sad day for comedy, for one our nations greatest comedians has passed away at the age of 56, according to his manager.
I cannot begin to tell you how sad I am. I LOVED this guy from the days of The Young Ones, Bottom, Black Adder and of course not forgetting My favourite Drop Dead Fred.
I will never forget his energetic performance on Jackanory - I normally hated that program, but with him, he made it so interesting! This guy really was a genius.
RIP Rik - you shall be sadly missed.
